Getting Started with Scuba Diving
Becoming a PADI Open Water Diver starts with PADI eLearning, where you'll complete the academic portion of your course online and at your own pace.
After completing your eLearning, you'll need to complete confined-water training and four open-water training dives with a PADI dive center or instructor.
Medical Requirements
Before signing up, you'll need to complete the PADI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire.
Depending on your answers, you may be required to get clearance from a physician before participating in the in-water portion of your training. If medical clearance is required, I recommend getting it before purchasing your eLearning or making any other course commitments.

Seals Watersports is no longer conducting in-water classes from our Santa Rosa location, but you can still begin your training through our PADI eLearning link. We're also working on options to help connect North Coast students with local in-water training opportunities.
