PADI Ocean refresher, Monterey

Forget the pool! This time, we're taking our refresher course to the stunning Monterey Bay Ca. Imagine the thrill of brushing up on your scuba skills in the open water, boosting your confidence for real-life dive adventures. With plenty of time for formal skill refreshers and actual dives, you'll be swimming with the fishes in no time.

Unlike the two-hour pool sessions, this adventure lets you get refresher in our local ocean!

The Scuba Refresher course
is just the thing for getting back in the water after being away from diving for a while. If you have not been diving in the past 6 months, most dive operators will insist that you take a refresher and miss a day of diving before getting started - at your own expense, of course. So, if you are not planning to take a refresher when you get there, plan to take one before you go...and bring your log book so we can record proof of your refresher course and sign you off.

Also, in addition to the necessary in-water skill review offered in the SEALS Scuba Refresher course, you may also want to go through the PADI online ReActivate academic review and card replacement (optional, but recommended). Details.

You will review equipment use, revisit certain underwater skills, and have an opportunity to ask questions. If you have your own currently serviced scuba equipment or your own mask, snorkel, and fins, we encourage you to use them so you can refamiliarize yourself with your gear and make sure it works properly.

  • Equipment is NOT included in the cost of tuition.
  • Required personal equipment: mask, snorkel, fins, surface marker buoy.
  • All other scuba gear will be rented for a $100 weekend rate. Standard rental rates apply for late returns.
  • Consider purchasing your scuba gear prior to class and getting to know it during training.
  • Students get a LIFETIME DISCOUNT in the store, so make sure you introduce yourself when you come in!
  • Please fill out the student form below for rental gear sizing.
  • Come by the shop ASAP to reserve your gear, as it is first come, first served.
  • You will need to pick up your rental equipment from the shop Friday before class. If you already have your own equipment you MUST bring it into the shop for a gear check. Also bring in proof of prior scuba certification.

To participate in the SCUBA Refresher you must have proof of certification, adequate swimming skills, be in good physical health, and properly fill out a medical questionnaire, and liability release.
