PADI Private Open Water Training Dives

You need to download the PADI App from Apple App Store or Google Play Store to access you PADI dive log and certification card.
- After finishing e-learning and pool training, you will repeat the skills learned in the swimming pool during four Open Water Dives over two days, lodging not included.
- Most of our training dives take place in Monterey with trips also to the North Coast and Tahoe.
- Required equipment is NOT included in the cost of tuition.
- Required equipment: mask, snorkel, fins, neoprene boots, surface marker buoy, and whistle, hood, and gloves
- The scuba equipment needed for Open Water Dives is available for rent.
- The rental period for the Open Water Dives is from Friday through Monday. Standard rental rates apply for late returns.
- The rental fee is $100 and includes BCD, regulator w/dive computer, wetsuit, 2 tanks and weight.
- Consider purchasing your own scuba equipment package prior to class so you can train in your own gear.
- Seals Watersports has a great selection of gear and knowledgeable staff to help you get fitted.
- Students get a LIFETIME DISCOUNT in the store so make sure to introduce yourself when you come in!
- Please fill out the student form below for rental gear sizing. It's always better to come into the shop ASAP to reserve your gear, as it's first come, first served.
Class Cancellation Policy
We ask that you commit to your date when signing up. Please note:
- Cancel or reschedule up to 3 weeks prior with a 4% processing fee.
- Cancellations or changes after the 3-week deadline will incur a $50 fee.
- Starting 1 week before class, there are no refunds for cancellations or transfers. You will need to pay and additional instructor fee of $100 for rescheduling.
- Failure to show up or call will result in forfeiting your tuition.
- Tuition is non-refundable once class begins, completed or not.
If you need a physician’s release, rescheduling follows the same policy.
Please review the medical form before signing up. Rescheduling due to needing a physician's release is subject to our policy above.
We need a minimum of 3 students to run this class. If the minimum is not met we will reschedule the class for a later date.
Map to Monterey (San Carlos Beach)
9am sharp - approximately 3pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early to secure parking and bring your gear to the beach. Be prepared to refill tanks after the first day (approximately $15).
Deadline to sign up is the Monday before your class.

| Requirements: | You must first complete the PADI Open Water Diver E-learning, and your Pool Training dive. Paperwork needed to participate: Diver medical, E-learning final exam, student record folder, and PADI App. Students need to provide their own personal equipment. Mask, snorkel, fins, surface marker buoy, and whistle. You will also need boots, gloves and a hood. Please come in to the store ASAP so we can have you fitted and reserve your rental gear for training. You will need to pick up your rental equipment from SEALS Friday before your class and return in the Monday after class. If you already have your own equipment you MUST bring it into the store for a gear check. If you don't bring equipment in for a gear check, we will require you to rent or purchase equipment. |
